P.C. Picot and A.J. Rouille started their business as scrap merchants and recyclers around 30 years ago. They were originally hired by the States of Jersey to solve the increasing problem of car and machinery disposal in the island.
They first started as part time contract workers, breaking up vehicles in their spare time, but soon realized that there was a large market on the Island for their speciality. In the beginning, metal wasn’t recycled but was merely sent to one of the Island dumps.
Things have advanced a great deal since the early days of break up and disposal. After registering the company as Picot & Rouille Ltd in 1973 they have occupied two scrap yards with the latter being where they are today. As pressures for recycling materials increased, not only in Jersey but throughout the world, so did the availability of machinery needed for the job.
Over the years, Picot & Rouille have become the scrap merchants trusted by the island.
