Process

There are 6 stages in the scrap process. All kinds of scrap metal, from cars, computers, washing machines to trucks, are recieved and go through the 6 different stages to produce the final product of the process.

Stage 1: Liebherr 924 Rehandler

This crane picks up the metal and puts it into the compresser.

Stage 2: Compression Shear, Copex 1000 tonner

This machine compresses all the metal.

Stage 3: 1160 Allan Diesel

This machine is used to turn the coveyor belt, which transports the scrap, on a belt, to the next process.

Stage 4: Fragmentizer

Also known as Shredder, this is where the metal is separated from the rubbish and the rubbish is shredded into fine particles to make sure there are no metals with the rubbish.

Stage 5: Down Stream Plant, Eddie Separater

This is where the rubbish is sieved to extract the metal.

Stage 6: Eddie Current

This is the last stage. This is where the fine rubbish is sent. A magnetic force is applied to the fine rubbish to extract the final pieces of metal contained within.
